Why is there more calories/less fibre in a oatmeal cookie?

Fiber was added to the chocolate cookie. More shortening was used in the oatmeal cookie to enable it to hold together. Thus, the difference. Generally, cookies are made with flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, eggs, vanilla in given proportions. In a laboratory/factory setting, variations can be made to enhance flavor and save money inproduction costs while maximizing profits. Most people would make the judgement as you. For those, who wish chocolate, but wonder if it has the benefits of fiber, the chart is for those who are analytical in making judgments of this sort. This gets back to the bottom line, selling more cookies leads to more profit.
