Would this be too much of a gift to my close friend?

Okay so i know her like about 3 years and 1/2. Were are pretty close, we talk about a lot of things we have similarities. So anyway we always hang out most of the time. Anyway, i was thinking since we both want to get into make up. I sign up to get a makeover at mac. It's about 50$ Bucks for each of us. I have no problem with that. But yeah what do you think? By the it was her birthday so yeah i plan that as a gift. Or perhaps something else. What do you think?
