My millie is nine months (cat), and I have noticed no signs of her ever having a heat cycle yet.is this normal?

Millie is now just over 9 months, i waited a little long to have her desexed and am planning on getting her done it the next couple of weeks, would she have had a silent heat already? i have not noticed ANY signs of her being on heat... is this normal? just curious
